Who does not remember the Citroen Mehari, perhaps the car that better represents the revolutionary period of the 1960s?
Maybe not everyone knows the history of this exceptional car.
The Mehari was born from an idea, almost a game, of Roland P. d’Ivoy de la Poype, a French count who, at the end of his career as an aeroplane pilot, founded S.E.A.B. to develop a new material that he understood to be of fundamental importance for the future: plastic.

DESCRIPTION
I purchased the car in 2018 and it was already in good condition, but I decided to restore it completely.
The car was completely disassembled, the chassis was completely stripped, reinforced where necessary and then repainted.
The engine was cleaned and checked after disassembly, the clutch was replaced with a new one, the brake system was repaired, the silencer was replaced with a new one.
The entire electrical system has been checked and overhauled.
All plastic parts of the car have been replaced with new orange dyed plastic polymer plastics as they were originally.
The interior was completely renovated and upholstered in white sky with orange stripes.
The rims have been sandblasted and repainted as they were originally; parts of the front and rear lights have been replaced with new parts.

The car was sold for the first time in Italy and has always remained there.
The vehicle is not currently ASI registered as it is already over thirty years old and therefore already benefits from all tax breaks.
After the restoration, which took about two years, the car was successfully inspected in June 2021.
