Description

The Acadiane (internal name AYCD) was a car model of the French car manufacturer Citroën. The van was based on the Dyane.

The name comes from the pronunciation of "AK Dyane" (AK was the model name of the 2CV delivery van) and has nothing to do with Acadiana, the former French home of the Cajuns in the south of the US state of Louisiana.

While the Dyane was unable to replace the 2CV, the Acadiane took over from the AK van in the summer of 1978. It was also built three years longer than the Dyane.

Right from the start, the Acadiane had the larger engine with 602 cc and 31 hp (23 kW) at 5750 rpm and a maximum torque of 41.2 Nm at 3500 rpm. The chassis was similar to that of the 2CV. All of the wheels were suspended on parallel rockers with horizontal coil springs. The vehicle had disc brakes on the front axle. Thanks to the slightly slippery shape (compared to the 2CV AK / AKS), the top speed rose to almost 100 km / h. According to the ECE standard, consumption was 5.7 liters at 90 km / h and 7.2 liters of premium petrol in city traffic.

The vehicle differed from the sedan by a 135 mm longer wheelbase, a higher, fixed roof over the front seats and the box-like loading space from the B-pillar. This structure could be loaded through a split 1 m wide double door at the rear. The box structure was larger than that of the AK 400, it could accommodate a Euro pallet lengthways and had a total capacity of 2.27 m³. The permissible payload was 435 kg. Standard features were side windows, square multi-chamber taillights instead of the round ones of the AK and rubber horns, which together with a transverse tube served as the rear bumper. The fuel tank (passenger side) and a non-lockable compartment (driver side) were located in the sides of the box body, in front of the wheel arches below.

Beautiful authentic Citroen Acadiane 6 -400. We found this vehicle in sunny Valencia. It was sold in 2019 by its first owner to a workshop near Valencia that specializes in Citroen 2CV and Mehari. The vehicle was completely restored there and was used as an exhibition vehicle at trade fairs until December.
he van has its original rust and accident free chassis, body and engine. Two new front fenders were installed in the course of the restoration. The technology was repaired where necessary, and many new parts were installed. The vehicle served as a demonstration vehicle for customers and on trade fairs to demonstrate the know-how of the Citroen specialist. We bought it right there and returned the very nice car to Mike Schmidt's duck ranch in Niederkassel for maintenance. There it was confirmed to us that it is a really good and honest copy and has been professionally restored. Mike then did a customer service and demonstrated the vehicle to TÜV for full acceptance. It now has a German TÜV with an H mark (§23) and can be immediately registered as a truck. It can now also enter the environmental zone. For lovers of this type of vehicle, it is a one-time opportunity to acquire an Acadian in top condition. We can also imagine that you could serve as an advertising medium, with tablet screens could be mounted in the windows inside of the box (4 pieces). This turns the car into a parking advertising column in the city. There is no more eye-catching, original and modern advertising.
