Complete and documented restoration
Known history
Faithful to the original presentation and characteristics

Purchased in the early 1980s in Les Domaines by a Citroën collector doctor in the Landes, this car was bequeathed to his gardener upon his death, who sold it, after many attempts in 2007 to Mr G, a great collector of 2 CVs from northern France. The Sahara version was part of his dreams and he embarked on an exemplary restoration without cost limits.
The car was very healthy and the original chassis was kept. Completely dismantled, the body was redone at a body shop, in its Embrun Green colour (AC511) found inside. The owner took care of the complete reassembly, paying particular attention to the respect of the original characteristics, a very complete file of documentation, photos and invoices showing the work carried out. From a mechanical point of view, if the rear engine was correct, it found a front engine corresponding to the original type, so that the car is equipped with two AW type engines equipped as required with the Solex F26 CBIN carburettor in the specific tank.
Completed in April 2008, the car was able to participate in the festivities organized in Ermenonville for the 50th anniversary of the Sahara, and it was also the subject of an article in the magazine 2 CV et dérivés n°11 in May-June 2012. Purchased at an auction in 2016 by Mr. R, it undertook a refurbishment of the front engine mechanics. Now at just over 65,000 km in length and perfectly presented and in conformity with the original, the mechanical condition is also beyond reproach. During the test, the car proved to be perfectly comfortable on the road. Both engines work perfectly as well as the gearboxes. Proposed today with an estimate consistent with the rarity of the model, it is a chance here to acquire one of the most beautiful "Sahara" on the market.

This car will be sold by auction by AGUTTES Auction House, in La Ferté-Vidame, at the Citroën Centenary, France, on July the 21th, 2019.
