Delivered new in Switzerland, this 2CV Sahara was purchased in 1977 by a Swedish expatriate in this country, Mr. B. Kohn, a collector of 2CVs. The car was in an advanced state of use despite the beginning of restoration and, after a number of administrative procedures, the export to Stockholm was able to take place and the owner embarked on a restoration, not hesitating to bring various modifications when he considered that they improved the operation of the car, such as changing the electrical system from 6 to 12 volts. He sold the car in 1989 to an Uppsala car dealer, Bil-O-Matic, who covered some 1,000 km in nine years. The Sahara was then bought by Sweden's oldest car dealership, Örebro Automobil Affär AB, which opened in 1928. It has always been a Citroën representative, and its store housed the Sahara, which remained on display for 20 years in its hall. The owner decided to sell his compagny, which explains why he is parting with this car.
It has not been driven in a long time, but it functions correctly - nonetheless, it will need an overhaul and a cleaning of the fuel tanks. Of a total of 694 Saharas produced, this would be the 169th example. The number of survivors is estimated at around a hundred, making it one of the rarest Citroëns.
