From the 1957 Chevrolet’s bold front end to the tip of its flight-flared rear fenders, everything bears the stamp of advanced engineering for 1957. It was declared to be engineering that had to be seen and experienced by anyone from that year that was interested in automotive design philosophy of the future. The integrated bumper-grille styling was, and still is, considered smooth and clean, with no separate bumper hung on as an afterthought and is particularly inviting to the discerning eye. There is no clutter of small pieces that detract from the clean overall presentation that features the late ‘50s modern trends of tailored-in-steel presence. The sweet, smooth and sassy Bel Air has always been a contender for many compliments and unending respect as a trendsetter.

This particular Bel Air Convertible is reported to be “orange” in tone with a two-tone interior and white soft-top. We were not provided with which of the four V-8 powerplants available in 1957 is found in this car, but it definitely has an automatic transmission. Among the equipment onboard is an AM radio, dual sideview mirrors, whitewall tires, factory wheel covers; power top, steering and brakes. The Chevrolet is quoted as being a “great original driver with (unspecified – AA note) mechanical upgrades.”
