Description

Chassis No. 6L67S6Q230100

Times change, fashions change. By the end of the decade of the sixties convertibles had fallen out of favor with the buying public. Even Chevrolet, who always sold more Corvette convertibles than coupes saw the numbers dramatically reverse. By 1976 all US manufacturers had removed convertibles from their offerings – except Cadillac. The 1976 Eldorado convertible was going to be the last convertible ever made by General Motors, and they made sure the ragtop era went out in style. The Eldorado, powered by the massive 500 cu-in Cadillac V8, defied the looming gas crunch and safety regulations in the biggest, boldest way possible. This striking one-owner Eldorado shows just 36,346 miles at cataloging and has been wonderfully preserved. Painted Code 13 Georgian Silver with matching leather interior, this Caddy makes a statement. A matching fiberglass convertible top boot makes top-down motoring even easier. Thankfully sanity prevailed and convertibles slowly returned in the eighties, but none will ever match the '76 Eldorado's bravado. Times change, but Cadillac's "last convertible ever" will never go out of style!
