Description

When Cadillac revised the Eldorado in 1957, the Biarritz convertible continued as a Series 62 body style. Though 1,800 examples of the 1957 Eldorado Biarritz were ultimately built, one would be hard-pressed to locate a more finely restored example than the featured car. This beautiful Eldorado was completed in May 1957, equipped with tinted glass, air-conditioning, an automatic headlamp dimmer, and a gold grille. The body was finished in Olympic White paint with an Ivory top, and the interior was upholstered with Black and White leather. Owned by a resident of Nebraska during the 1970s, the Biarritz was purchased in 1998 by respected collector William “Tom” Gerrard of Boca Raton, Florida. Mr. Gerrard commissioned a complete restoration by Harbor Auto Restoration of Pompano Beach, including a breathtaking refinish in the period-correct colors of Elysian Green paint over a light green metallic interior.

Upon completion of the restoration in 2000, the Cadillac was exhibited at several AACA meets, eventually earning Grand National Senior status in 2003. It also was awarded at meetings of the Cadillac & LaSalle Club, and the Eldorado notably won Best in Class at the 2000 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance. After passing to an Oklahoma-based enthusiast in 2011, the Cadillac was acquired by the consignor in 2015, and it has since benefited from continued service as needed.

This beautifully restored and highly awarded example of a Mid-Century design icon would superbly complement any collection.
