In 2016, just over a decade after the successful rebirth of Bugatti spearheaded by the Volkswagen Group, a new hypercar bearing the badge of the Molsheim atelier was unveiled that would add another glorious chapter to its illustrious history.

The car in question was the Chiron, and when it made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March of that year, it was immediately clear that Bugatti’s engineers had pushed the envelope even further in developing a successor to the groundbreaking Veyron.

The new car—which took its name from the celebrated Monégasque racing driver Louis Chiron—shared some elements with its predecessor, carrying over its rear-mid-engine architecture, all-wheel drive and, most importantly, the revered aluminium-alloy 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged W-16 engine. But there were major enhancements, too, most notably significant development of the drivetrain from its application in the last iteration of the Veyron, with larger two-stage turbochargers, bigger catalytic converters, and a new titanium exhaust system.

The effect was devastating, with the Chiron producing a mind-boggling 1,479 horsepower and 1,180 pound-feet of torque. Allied to a carbon fibre monocoque built to Le Mans Prototype standards and new adaptive chassis technologies, the result was truly exhilarating performance. A 0 to 100 km/h sprint was achievable in a mere 2.4 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 420 km/h.

Bugatti’s pledge that only 500 Chirons would be built instantly ensured huge demand from collectors, and interest has only intensified since. The pristine example offered here provides a rare opportunity to own a hypercar whose status as one of the 21st Century’s towering automotive achievements is already secure.

Built in 2018 and delivered new to its first and only owner in Berlin in 2019, the impeccable Chiron has been created as a one-off work of art and as such has a unique specification. It makes an immediate impact thanks to its Grey Carbon and Nocturne exterior. The monochrome appearance simultaneously conveys an air of drama and menace, heightened by two small splashes of colour in the form of the unmistakable deep red Bugatti Macaron emblem at the front and vivid Italian Red brake callipers.

Inside, the Chiron has been similarly well specified, resplendent in Beluga Black and Gaucho leather. The opulent ambience is elevated further by exquisite detailing, including quilted seating and Gaucho stitching on the sumptuous leather-clad steering wheel.

Since its delivery, the Chiron has been used lightly, with the odometer reading only 1,339 kilometres at the time of cataloguing. Accompanying documentation includes a record of its most recent yearly inspection, performed by Bugatti Frankfurt in April 2022. Its “as-new” presentation is reflected by the array of accessories that are offered with the Chiron, including the owner’s manual, service manual, original leather key, a battery charger and bag, and car cover.

The availability of any Chiron is sure to generate huge interest, given the limited production run and the fact Bugatti has since acknowledged that no more new cars will be built with the legendary W-16 engine.
