Description

These Bristols are just such excellent cars in every way, this particular example of the 411 is one of the finest order

As a 411 she has the big block 'B' series Chrysler engine, 6,556cc of American V8 greatness. This was the first engine upgrade Bristols received since the small block V8 was put in the 407 replacing their own in-line six

With the V8 engines in mind it's appropriate to pay tribute to the great Tony Crook who first put the Chrysler engine in a Bristol

Crook's desire to build high quality grand tourers teamed with his undying love for Bristol cars was the cocktail that made these cars such imperious motors. He is someone we all as car lovers should recognise as a true great

Anyway back to our 411 who really does present so well

In 2017 she went to see Bristol cars for a general health check of the steering, suspension & general electronics all of which were renewed where necessary. Additionally, during this trip back to her creators she was the lucky recipient of a few little upgrades...

Soft LED lights replaced the standard dashboard lights

Iphone chargers were added to the cigar lighters (just carry your DuPont / Dunhill if you need one)

New halogen style headlights

New Avon safety wheels

The Avon safety wheels really are a splendid addition, and since the recent sale of Bristols remaining parts will, from here on, become ever increasingly hard to come by

The Avon wheels too provide a fantastic Tony Crook anecdote, of which there are many

Furthermore, and we're not sure when, she has a relatively modern stereo with Bluetooth et al

Other non-standard additions include the driver and front passenger armrests, metal sunroof, front headrests, the fantastic bonnet louvres, aluminium rocker covers etc etc

Everything on her is as it should be right down to the leather pouch for holding the release bar to the front wings, where one can find a spare wheel on the near side & battery on the off. A genius piece of design allowing the boot to be officially massive

The last owner purchased her from Bristol Cars directly in 2017, so offered direct from the Factory we know she met their highest level of expectations

Bristol experts Spencer Lane Jones have looked after her for the last few years carrying out general servicing, the last of which was July of this year, when any requisite work like new rocker cover gaskets and fuel system gaskets was done

All of the above has been done within circa 3000 miles of where she currently sits

This is one of the best 411's we've ever seen and whilst these cars aren't yet worth what their quality might suggest they represent great value for money
