BMW France ran this BMW M3 Group A car for the 1987 season in the French and European Group A championship, under the colours of the newspaper "Evenement du Jeudi". It was serviced and maintained by specialists ORECA, finishing third overall.
In the same year car competed in the 24 Hours of Spa in Bastos Colours, with ex-F1 driver Jean Pierre Jabouille and Guitteny /Bleynie at the wheel, finishing a credible thirteenth place overall.
The following year the car campaigned in three races with Guitteny /Bleynie at the wheel. It was later sold to Cilti Sport Rally team, where the car was completely modified to rally specification by Bernard Bouhier Engineering. Bouhier had worked for both Alfa Romeo France and VW France, and had also designed the Peugeot 205 and 405 T16 rally
