Description
GENERAL
The BMW Isetta must be one of the quirkiest yet charming modes of transport ever produced. It was originally developed by ISO, a refrigerator manufacturer that would soon shock the world with supercars like the ISO Grifo.
This a wonderful opportunity to acquire a fully restored example of this most charismatic micro-car. It has been restored by a private enthusiast. A photographic restoration record comes with the car and is pictured in the gallery.
EXTERIOR
The two tone paintwork on the little Isetta looks stunning. It shows no dents, scratches or stone chips. More detailed pictures can be seen in the gallery below.
The brightwork on this car is very clean and has a lovely shine to it.
INTERIOR
This Isetta has a beautiful renewed interior, combining blue leatherette seats with red/grey checkered fabric. The dashboard and all the instruments look clean and are said to be in working condition.
The completely renewed sun roof looks very tidy and folds back and forth as it should.
The instrument cluster, steering column and pedals are in nearly-new condition.
ENGINE
In February 1956, a 300cc engine was introduced. The maximum speed remained at 85 km/h, yet there was a marked increase in flexibility, mostly noticeable on gradients.
The mechanical aspects of the car have been rebuilt. Some pictures of this process are displayed in the gallery. The engine in this Isetta starts, drives and shifts very smoothly.
BODY
The bodywork on this car looks very clean and healthy. Pictures of the bare metal restoration are visible in the gallery.
The wheels and hubcaps are in as-new condition, and fitted with new tires.
PAPER TRAIL
The car comes with Dutch documents and a restoration file.
