Originally conceived as a standalone creation from BMW's Motorsports division, the E31 850 CSi stood as the pinnacle of high-performance models for the marque from 1991 to 1996. Powering this exceptional vehicle is the S70B56 V-12, a remarkably refined 5.6-liter engine boasting an impressive 380 horsepower according to BMW. Deviating from its standard counterpart, this powerplant incorporates lighter pistons, a forged crankshaft, enhanced camshafts, adjusted intake and exhaust systems, heightened compression, and supplementary engine coolers.

A distinctive engine management system enables a variable rev limiter dependent on the gear and the option to choose from various power maps. Noteworthy enhancements extend to a more rigid suspension, unique aluminum "throwing star" wheels, improved braking capabilities, and a limited-slip differential, further solidifying its position as a standout in the automotive realm.

This particular unit was initially delivered to Spain in December 1993. The first owner covered approximately 170,000 km over 13 years until the current owner acquired it in 2006. A comprehensive service record is available, documenting all the services conducted annually in the service book by official BMW dealers until 2006, and subsequently, by a professional workshop specializing in BMW maintenance up to the present day.
