A legendary piece of technology and only delivered in real M versions.
Introduced in 1983, this is a fairly early unit which was delivered new in 1984 by the then German BMW dealer Peter Bütje in Cuxhaven, it is therefore a European model.

We recently imported the car from California, it has an American title and import document showing all import duties have been paid.

This is an unusual version with a fabric Karo interior, sunroof, air conditioning, BMW radio, tinted glass, honeycomb rims, fog lamps and various other options.
The bodywork is very neat with signs of wear, the left front wing had a dent removed and was resprayed, it doesn’t seem to have been replaced. There are some small rust spots on the bottom of the front wings, just like under the windscreen, everything is very clear and minimal. It seems to be the original paint (Henna red) with some small dents, scratches and wear.

The underside is intact and looks very neat, clearly a car that has driven in a warm and dry climate.

A nice base to refurbish or leave it as original as possible.
Explicitly sold as a car with work but it is an excellent and honest base, it hasn’t been tinkered with.

The engine sounds good, it starts well but needs a service, the car drives, shifts and brakes but does not have enough power, we suspect this can be resolved with a major service.

It has a few booklets but no maintenance booklet, the mileage is a reading and not demonstrable.

Where else would you find such a good basis with largely the original paint and as a German Erstauslieferung (first delivery).
