Description

Transmission: 4 gears, Manual gearbox
Model year: 2021
Model code: E9
Registration number: BM-02-40

Bring back the good old days when a 3.0 on the back of a BMW actually meant it had a three-litre capacity engine. It seems so long ago, but looking at this E9 it could just as easily be yesterday. In the coming decennia, the BMW E9 will become known as being one of the most eye-catching models made by the guys with the propellor in their emblem. Especially this one edition. This BMW E9 was a Swiss supplied car when new and brought by us to the Netherlands.

It is simply a fantastic car. This BMW has beautiful and fully rust-free bodywork, not something you unfortunately often see with this model. The cosmetically resprayed paintwork is in very good

condition. All work was carried out to a high level of professionalism keeping the car looking authentic. The correctly aligned panelwork of the Karmann bodywork is nice and thin. The car is adorned with plenty of brilliantly sparkling brightwork. This BMW stands proudly on its 15” original rims shod in correctly sized good quality rubber.

The fully original interior trim contrasts beautifully against the blue paintwork. The seats and rear bench have light brown leather upholstery. The perfectly maintained leather is still as supple whilst having developed a lovely patina that only adds to the car’s ambience. The first owner either had excellent sales guidance or was a man of impeccable taste; because this car, with this finish, this interior, with this engine, this transmission and these rims is truly BMW E9 perfection!

The engine just happens to be the delightfully supple 180 Ps 3.0 straight-six which feeds the popular manual gearbox. When this car was featured in the showrooms, many buyers opted for the then quite advanced 3-speed automatic, these days nearly everyone would go for the delightfully precise manual 4-speed gearbox. The engine, transmission brakes and suspension have all been extremely well maintained so that this car still drives a treat. This is how a BMW should drive, with a large naturally aspired straight-six attached to a manual transmission and with the power going to the rears. The suspension balance is so good allowing this Grand Tourer to effortlessly transport you to the Alps where you can then attack your favourite mountain road with gusto.

If you are not sure how to work the heating once there, an original owner’s manual will show you the way. With its gorgeous finish and good mechanical condition, this is a brilliant BMW E9 3.0CS.
