This matching numbers example was Australian delivered and built in 1973 as a factory right hand drive, the orange paintwork being refreshed in 2009, the black interior presents in excellent condition with complimenting 'Inka' orange piping and timber dash. This example features original CSL Alpina Wheels and received a no expense spared, exterior restoration resulting in a concours vehicle.

The 2800 CS took until 1971 to make its Australian Debut, mid 1971 brought the 3.0-Litre version of the engine. These engines were built to give a displacement of 2,986cc (182.2 cu in), which gave it a 9.0:1 compression ratio. This BMW being equipped with twin Zenith carburettors, it produced a healthy 180 horsepower (130KW) at a notable 6,000RPM. It presents with a 'Borg-Warner' 3-speed Automatic transmission, a 3.0CS version that attributed to over 11,063 sales during the years of production and importation to Australia.

The BMW CS series was one of the manufacturers most successful models and a key part of BMW's startling sales success in the 1970's and 1980's. The BMW 3.0CS, manufactured as a two-door coupe was built for BMW by Karmann from 1968 to 1975.
