This is one of the very rare 1692 examples of BMW "voll cabriolet" built in 1970 on behalf of the German car manufacturer by the famous BAUR bodyshop in Stuttgart.
Although this car was already in excellent condition, it underwent a complete professional restoration from 2021 to today:
the engine (matching numbers) is totally new, as well as the whole braking system; all the pipes including both the rigid ones and the rubber ones have been replaced; the gearbox has also been completely overhauled; the shock absorbers have been replaced; the entire exhaust system has been replaced; the petrol pump has been replaced,
as have all the belts and fluids; the fuel tank was stripped, etc.
In short, each part has been either reconditioned or replaced with original BMW parts, all the reconditioned components have been subject to galvanic galvanisation, as well as all the nuts and bolts.
The tyres are also new and the rims (the original ones) have been restored.
The interior is new, as is the soft top, all the chrome has been redone and the soft top frame has been powder coated, the seals including the window seals are also new.
The car is in competition-worthy condition, it has no defects and has a BMW certification of authenticity, Italian first registration documents, ASI certification and original ROME number plates.
Collection in Rome is preferable, where the vehicle can be viewed and tested by appointment with Catawiki.
