Few cars carry as much presence as the Bentley Turbo R and we’re delighted to offer this exceptional example for sale at Duke of London.

The Turbo R started life as the Mulsanne Turbo in 1982 and marked the beginning of a new era for Bentley after years under Rolls-Royce ownership. Now under the guidance of Vickers, the Mulsanne was the first cars to emerge from Crewe under the new direction. Turbos were relatively new territory for the great British marque but Bentley had been experimenting with forced induction since the 1970s, so by the time the Mulsanne launched, the carmaker was well versed in the art of turbocharging.

In 1985, the Mulsanne Turbo became the Bentley Turbo R, with its trademark V8 benefiting from an extra 30 bhp, better suspension and an all-round better driving experience. With its upright, dominant grille, ruler-straight lines and midnight blue exterior and cream interior, this Bentley Turbo R is a 90s icon like no other.

Carrying the midnight blue theme into the interior, this Bentley’s cabin is exceptional - finished in parchment coloured leather with dark blue lambswool carpets, sports style seats and burr Walnut veneer, there’s no better place to waft along and watch the world go by.

Equipped with its original documents, including its pre-delivery check stamped by H.R Owen, its original handbook, sales and service document and warrantee all dated at its first registration in September 1990. Owned and cared for until its sale in 2005, the car has been serviced at H.R Owen, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, London and marque specialists throughout its life. Every detail has been seen to recently, with thousands spent on the car in the past two years, including new door speakers, replacement electrics, trim repairs, paint correction, belts, engine mounts, brakes, tyres and more. No stone has been left unturned to restore this Turbo R back to its former glory.
