Description
A 2-door Bentley Continental would certainly have been the epitome of elegance in 1961 and to this day the car, with its exceedingly elegant lines, rightfully present one of the most sought after post war Bentley motor cars. This Continental is, according to the chassis list in the book “Bentley Continental” by Martin Bennett, one of only 26 left hand drive examples with the two door H.J. Mulliner coachwork. The S2 was delivered in February 1961 to the Garage de l’Athenée in Geneva and handed over to its first owner Max Dubuis on the 8th March of the same year. Shortly afterwards he decided to repaint the car from its original pale green to his company's colours light blue metallic. When he decided to pass the Bentley onto the next owner some twenty years ago, he sold it to the son of a friend who remained faithful to the luxurious coupe to the current day. During its 62 years on Swiss roads the Bentley was driven sparingly, and the 45’000 kilometres shown correspond with a total mileage of only around 145’000 kilometres. The gorgeous coupe was always carefully and thoroughly maintained and recently the automatic gearbox received an overhaul for around 10’000 Swiss francs. The beige leather interior was never restored and shows a beautiful age correct patina. We are proud to offer the opportunity to acquire one of those extremely rare cars in good and very original condition with a full history and the last veteran MOT successfully completed in December 2017.
