Description
The Continental Flying Spur is a saloon produced by Bentley, a subsidiary of Volkswagen, and was replaced in 2013 by the Flying Spur (without ‘Continental’ in its name). The name ‘Flying Spur’ is derived from the family coat of arms of the coachbuilder and bodywork manufacturer Mulliner, who had already produced the bodywork for the first Rolls-Royce and Bentley models and was acquired in 1959. Among other features, the coat of arms depicts a winged spur. The Continental Flying Spur is the second Bentley to bear this name. From 1957 onwards, H. J. Mulliner & Co. and H. J. Mulliner, Park Ward Ltd. produced a high-end four-door sports saloon based on the S1 Continental, which continued in the S2 and S3 series until 1966. Furthermore, the Continental Flying Spur is the second Bentley model range to be developed under Volkswagen’s management and, in 2006, was partly built at the Gläserne Manufaktur in Dresden. Consequently, the entire Continental range – comprising the Flying Spur, the GT Coupé and the GTC Cabriolet – is related to the VW Phaeton, but features a higher-quality interior and, exclusively, a six-litre twin-turbo W12 engine. All models come as standard with permanent all-wheel drive and adaptive air suspension. This Bentley Continental Flying Spur was originally delivered in Switzerland and was handed over to its first owner by Bentley Genève on 14 August 2007. For around CHF 270'000, the owner received an extremely luxurious saloon capable of speeds in excess of 300 km/h, featuring a 6-litre W12 biturbo engine, 560 hp, a 6-speed automatic gearbox, all-wheel drive, exquisite leather upholstery, the finest wood trim, sat-nav, a sunroof, 4-zone climate control, electrically adjustable, heated and ventilated seats with massage function at the front and rear, as well as a host of additional luxury features. The proud owner loved his Bentley and – as the complete service history book shows – ensured it was regularly serviced at the authorized dealership of this prestigious British marque. In autumn 2025, the Flying Spur was acquired from its previous owner with around 69'000 km on the clock and added to his small collection. Since then, the car has been used for occasional drives and has spent most of its time in a dry garage. With just under 72'000 km on the clock, the Bentley is in good to very good condition and has been well looked after. In addition to the fitted wheels (without tyre pressure monitoring), a set of original wheels is included with the vehicle. The last MOT was carried out in September 2026, meaning the Flying Spur can be registered immediately.
