The Bentley Continental GT is a four-seater sports car that has been produced by the British car manufacturer Bentley since 2003. The Continental GT is the successor to the Rolls Royce-based Continental R and T. The car was designed by the Belgian designer Dirk van Braeckel. The GT has a six-liter twin-turbo W12 engine that produces 560 hp. The GT reaches a speed of 0 to 100 km/h within 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 318 kilometers per hour.
The new Continental GT is designed for an unprecedented driving experience, with optimal comfort or ultimate ecstasy, depending on the conditions. Our original Dutch delivered Bentley Continental GT 6.0 W12 from 2004 with 212,000 kilometers has just arrived with us with a new one costing around € 230,000 at the time.
Enthusiasts sometimes grumble that Bentley's exclusivity is being jettisoned in favor of VW's profit and loss account, but thanks to VW we still have Bentleys to enjoy at all. Another car company had done exactly the same when taken over (the only salvation for Bentley), or worse, compromised the quality.
We see in the accompanying documentation and the service history that this Bentley has always been properly maintained by the dealer and by the Bentley specialist, which are neatly stamped.
Driving this car feels extremely solid. A kind of colossal moving bank vault with the maneuverability of a small middle class car. And if there's one thing we love, it's that.
I would describe the beige leather interior with its beautiful patina and the dashboard finished with wood inlay as neo-classical with a German level of finish. Normally people don't like beige and wood, but here it is completely appropriate. The details are very detailed, but not excessively present. Everything about this car radiates wealth and 'well organised'. And the options list is also inexhaustible.
The real mission of the 6.0 W12 is to give you the most worry-free travel experience ever. The Bentley Continental GT W12 is a premium coupe for a limited audience. As if you have your own Orient Express. If this is not the ideal car to 't Gooi' to the Côte d'Azur, then we don't know what is. In my opinion, this is one of the nicest, if not the nicest, car to do this with. No wonder there are so many of them driving around in both Laren and Monaco.
Before you know it, your imagination runs wild and you imagine yourself as one of the Bentley Boys, the illustrious group of wealthy young men who gave the brand so many sporting successes in its early years.
