Description

1924 Bentley 3 Litre Speed Model. A car with a fascinating and complete history. Chassis No 636 started life as a 3 Litre Speed Model with engine number 635 and with open touring coachwork by Park Ward. However, very early on in its life it acquired the Vanden Plas Speed model body that it carries today. It is believed this was fitted by the factory and came from the Frank Clement's factory demonstrator. All the numbers on the internal panels etc confirm this.

About 60 years ago the car was fitted with a complete 4.5 Litre engine (KM3092) which of course increases the performance considerably. It is also is fitted with the highly desirable "D" type gearbox.

There is a huge file of documents with the car which include some photographs of W.O. Bentley himself sitting in the car at a BDC event held to celebrate his 80th birthday!

A wonderful car with great history and provenance.
