This Mini VAN comes from the 2nd owner and was newly registered in the Netherlands in 1978.

In 2015, on behalf of the 2nd owner, it was completely body-off restored into an absolutely mint condition. Painted in Smoke Grey uni paint and thereafter rebuilt in detail with only original and new parts.

Exterior & Body
The body was completely restored in 2015, the bodywork was equipped with many new original parts including; the entire front, doors, side panels, sills, interior screens and floor panels.
The entire coach has been expertly restored, blasted and welded, an original VAN roof hatch has been installed and expertly incorporated into the roof panel. Thereafter, a coating was applied to the bottom and in the wheel arches and subsequently the entire body was expertly painted. the inside and the exterior in the original Austin Mini colour BU15 Dove Grey.
The front and rear subframes have been neatly restored and coated with a powder coating, thereafter they were rebuilt with new parts and form a solid load-bearing structure for this VAN.

After the restoration, the entire Mini was rebuilt with many new original parts including; original Lucas headlights and headlight covers, glass flashing lights, taillight units, chrome classic wing mirrors, a new set of MK1 door hinges including new gaskets, new window, door and tailgate rubbers, new chrome bumpers with over-riders on the front and also two original OEM VAN rear bumpers.
The sliding windows are original and have new original locking mechanisms and rubbers.

Interior & Cargo space
The inside of the Mini is in a mint condition, it is equipped with two new black upholstered MK1 front seats, these are equipped with new foam and mats. A characteristic EI clock with two extra gauges and a completely new carpet set, door panels in black vinyl and black dashboard panel finish from Newton Commercial, which also delivered the two new door pockets and taillight units in the interior.
The headlining is new and expertly installed, the steering wheel is a two-spoke bakelite Austin Mini steering wheel with original matching Boss and logo, the rubber cover for the gear lever and the walnut gear knob have also been replaced.

The cargo space is in a fantastic condition, expertly finished and with a body kit all edges and seams are neatly levelled. The side panels are dent-free and in the same beautiful condition as the exterior.
Newton Commercial has supplied an original cargo space upholstery mat which matches the carpet at the front. The VAN is optionally available with the two classic leather travel cases that fit in the boot.

Engine and Mechanics:
Originally supplied with a 998cc engine that was ever replaced with a more powerful 1275cc A+ engine block.
During the 2015 restoration, the entire A+ engine block was also overhauled, the 1275cc engine was bored out to 1310cc with a +0.040 excess (oversize).. An overhauled SU HIF44 1.34 carburettor K&N Cone air filter, SU electric petrol pump, an aluminium water-cooled inlet, LCB Millennium exhaust manifold, entirely new LCB exhaust system, Lucas sports ignition coil, and a fine electronic ignition is installed, the engine of the Mini starts virtually immediately! Furthermore, silicone cooling hoses, new water pump, oil pump, NGK R spark plugs and a 4 core radiator are newly mounted.
Also the alternator, V-belt yellow cooling fin and heater valve are new!

The gearbox has been overhauled, this is a 4-speed manual gearbox Mini A+ ROD model with a 3.44:1 final drive ratio, 190mm “verto” clutch and a steel flywheel. This gearbox shifts very smoothly and without any problems.
The engine is equipped with 20W50 Miller classic oil.
The clutch and cylinders have been replaced, for this reason all copper lines have been expertly newly installed.
All electronics have been checked and replaced if necessary, new switches, relays and connections have been made so that the Mini is now very reliable and everything functions properly.

The petrol tank is made of aluminium and new! This has been replaced and equipped with a new petrol float and petrol filter.

Brakes & Suspension
Cooper S 7.5 brake discs at the front, equipped with brake booster, Goodridge braided brake lines, new Mintex brake shoes at the rear and Mintex brake pads at the front.
The brake discs are in a mint condition, and all brake lines, both in the engine compartment and underneath the Mini, are new.

New spring spheres have been mounted, solid rubbers on both subframes and a High Low Set with new adjustable GAZ shock absorbers, front upper and lower support arms OE are new with adjustable tie rods at the front.

Rims and tyres
The VAN is built and equipped with new 4.5 x 10” JBW rims made of aluminium, coated in Old English White WT3 and chrome centre hubcaps.
The tyres are: Dunlop Fomula 70 165/70/10 radial tyres with a perfect tread.

History & information
This Austin Mini VAN is truly in a top condition, every detail has been carefully rebuilt and improved.
The 2nd owner has an eye for details and has spared neither costs nor effort to make it one of the most beautiful Austin Mini Van versions, in our opinion, he has certainly succeeded!
Photos were taken during the restoration and almost all invoices are present. The original user manual booklet is still present with the Mini
Technical inspection + certificate are present.
The Mini has also been on the cover of the acclaimed MINIWORLD magazine and there was an extensive article in the August 2017 issue, a copy of this magazine is also included with the Mini and, in case you are interested, it can be read via MINIWORLD or Readly.
The Cooper Car Company letters are stickers and can be easily removed if desired, or you can change it in the same style in any text or company name as desired.
