Description

The Healey we propose is a splendid car delivered new in Milan (IT) on 25 September 1961, and is matching number and matching color, as reported in the certificate of the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust.
The car recently underwent a conservative restoration of bodywork, interior and mechanics, and is equipped with the very rare and original black Hard Top. The engine was overhauled by the previous owner and is equipped with three S.U. carburetors. The original Smiths instrumentation is in perfect working order, and the Motolita wooden three-spoke steering wheel is from the time. Four-speed gearbox with over drive on third and fourth gear, as well as reverse.
The interior is in leather with refined blue seats with white piping, and the door panels and dashboard are also in blue. The side windows of the door are removable and can be stored in the special leather case. The original blue hood is in perfect condition.
New spoked wheels and tires complete the equipment of this splendid British car.

The Austin-Healey 3000 was produced in three distinct series, known as Mk I, Mk II and Mk III. In March 1961 the 3000 Mark II was put on sale, both in 2-seater (BN7) and 2 + 2 (BT7) versions, which adopts 3 SU HS4 carburetors, instead of the previous 2, and a re-profiled camshaft to obtain 132 CV at 4750 rpm and reach 180 Km / h.
The body was modified with the adoption of a new oval grille with vertical bars.
A 3000 Mk II BT7 with hardtop and overdrive, tested by the British magazine The Motor in 1961, reached a top speed of 181.7 km / h, accelerating from 0-60 mph in 10.9 seconds.
The MKII BT7 went out of production in 1963 after 5.096 examples were produced.
