Description

We are delighted to offer for sale this 1958 Austin Healey 100/6 with overdrive and is very smartly presented with red bodywork and black interior. This example was supplied newin South Africa as an original right hand drive car and enjoyed by just one owner there in a warm climate until their passing. It is then thought to have been bequeathed to the niece of the original owner in Australia, where the car was exported to and then later traded for an MG. The car was acquired in Australia by the last keeper, who subsequently imported it back to England in 2014.

Echoing the BMC rally cars of its era, the interior is rather smarter than that of the sparse period correct competition machines, as it features red-piped black vinyl bucket seats, red-edged black carpets and wood-rimmed alloy steering wheel. The car is complete with the bumpers (not currently fitted) and a pair of Lucas auxiliary lights, period driver's door mirror and a set of good condition chrome wire wheels.

The odometer currently displays an unwarranted but possibly correct 37,166 miles.

A good example of a fast-appreciating British classic, this car could if required, be further developed into a period correct classic rally car, as a valuable white factory hardtop is included in the sale.
