"The Austin Healey 3000 Mk. II was a produced between 1961 and 1965. The 1963 model year saw a number of improvements to the car, including a more powerful engine and revised styling. Under the hood, the 1963 Austin Healey 3000 Mk. II featured a 2.9 litre straight-six engine capable of producing up to 132 horsepower, which was mated to a four-speed manual transmission. This engine allowed the car to accelerate from 0-60mph in just 9.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 115mph. On the outside, the Mk. II featured a more prominent grille, revised rear styling, and a new wrap-around windscreen. The interior was also updated, with a new dashboard and revised seating.
This beautiful Austin Healey is from a private collection and has benefitted from a no expense spared restoration. The work was meticulously undertaken by leading specialist Gerald ‘Jeggs’ Stephenson. He has been restoring Healeys for over 40 years and his approach to Healey’s borders on the obsessive. The quality of his work speaks for itself. This immaculate car presents wonderfully in grey over red coachwork complemented with a red interior which is piped in grey. It is fitted with subtle upgrades like improvements to the braking system, a stainless steel exhaust and electronic ignition. The engine was completely overhauled and balanced by Richard Parker race engines to the highest standard and features performance camshafts. Offered to auction with a V5C registration document, an original buff logbook and a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust trace certificate. This is possibly the finest example of a Mk. II available in the market today.
