With the introduction of the legendary quattro all-wheel-drive system in the 1980s, Audi changed the world of sporting cars forever. Successes in rallying and later on the circuit laid the foundation for a series of iconic sports models. Within this tradition, Audi Sport GmbH eventually emerged, then known as quattro GmbH, the division that became responsible for developing the most exclusive and powerful Audi models.
Ever since, the RS models have represented the very pinnacle of the Audi range. They combine extraordinary performance with everyday usability, a formula that has built an enormous following the world over.

The Audi RS6 C5 was introduced in 2002 as the spiritual successor to the legendary RS4 B5. Audi set out to prove that a luxury executive car could also go toe to toe with the fastest sports cars of its day. The result was a genuine wolf in sheep's clothing.
