EXTERIOR
Smooth, sleek and a complete departure from the typical Audi range of the time, the first generation Audi R8 looks sensational and a much purer design than its replacement. This example is finished in Daytona Grey with contrasting silver side blades and matching silver 19″ alloy wheels. A minimal but effective combination that suits the R8 aesthetic perfectly.

The paintwork of the car is in exceptional condition considering the cars age and mileage, with nothing more than a handful of stone chips to note. The deep grey finish shows with a resplendent shine throughout. The recognisable side blades are also free of any marks as are the smooth flanks of the car.

INTERIOR
The interior feel follows that typical Audi design DNA. Comfortable, low slung and wrought from solid materials, the build quality is clear with everything working as it should and no excessive wear to report. Black nappa leather covers the dash, doors and stunning wingback bucket seats which look superb, adding a distinct sense of occasion to the space. Creating some balance to the interior the stainless steel gated manual gear lever contrasts the dark leather to become the focal point of the space, and once on the move gives an incredibly satisfying change with a bolt like action.

Audi had ‘ease of use’ in mind when designing the R8 so it has excellent sight-lines front and rear, with the added bonus of front and rear parking sensors. An upgraded Pioneer headunit provides a host of modern features including navigation and Apple CarPlay, which is paired to a premium Bang & Olufsen sound system.

This combination means the R8 is comfortable to manoeuvre and drive on a day to day basis, yet capable as a legitimate sports car and driving machine.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
It was amazing that Audi even considered a mid-engined supercar at the time, but even more so that the conceptual design, with the engine on full display under a glass cover, made it to production. Indeed this must be one of the best dressed engine bays in the segment – exposed for all to see, it presents beautifully with the optional carbon Sigma engine cover providing a distinctly premium feel.

Featuring a naturally aspirated V8 engine and a manual gearbox this R8 is a true drivers car, with open gated shifter providing a level engagement and control above and beyond its automatic counterpart. On test drive the engine pulls cleanly, with great potency and a glorious sound courtesy of an upgraded Milltek exhaust system.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The handsome twin-bladed five spoke alloys are a wholesome 19 inch in diameter, finished in satin silver they compliment the sleek aesthetic of this R8. Matching Pirelli P-Zero tyres are fitted allround.

Optional Mag Ride suspension functions perfectly after a recent overhaul, providing switchable setting for comfort as a daily driver or a firmer, more controlled ride when using the full force of the naturally aspirated V8.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied by Audi, Crawley on 14/06/08 this stunning R8 was supplied with a number of sought after factory options, including Mag Ride suspension, premium Bang & Olufsen sound system and Audi’s trademark Wingback bucket seats.

Servicing has been carried out on a mileage basis, with 7 stamps in the original service book from a combination of Audi main dealers and specialists, the most recent of which was completed on 07/07/20 at 56,255 miles. Further work was carried out to rectify advisories on the most recent MOT including new rear Mag Ride shock absorbers and brake disc refurbishment, completed in March 2021 at a cost of over £1,400.

Present with the car is the complete original book pack, stamped service book, service/parts invoices, V5 and 2 sets of keys.
