Description
The GT12 is a lightweight and extreme special edition V12 Vantage, limited to an exclusive 100 cars. With a motorsport-derived chassis, engine, aerodynamics and handling, the GT12 bridges the gap between road and race track in stunning fashion. Its no wonder that all 100 were sold in very quick fashion when announced in 2015. The GT12 is truly the product of Aston Martin’s decades of building the great grand-touring road cars, and race-winning competition cars.
The howling 600bhp 6-litre V12 brings back memories of the multiple Le Mans-winning DBR9 GT1s (and sounds very similar) and the bodywork clearly mirrors the Le Mans-winning Vantage GTEs that became Aston Martin's most successful race cars internationally. The combination creates a truly useable, but brutally fast and balanced road car that gives you the same spine tingling sensations that a GTE or GT1 car would... but importantly, the GT12 will happily drive you across Europe with no fuss.
This very special GT12 is the sole example to have ever been owned by an Aston Martin World Champion, and has spent its whole life with Aston Martin Racing at Prodrive - delivered new to Canadian Paul Dalla Lana (2017 World Endurance Champion + 4-time Spa 6hr winner + 15-time WEC race winner, all with the Aston Martin works team). From 2016 until 2019, this very GT12 was transported to the European rounds of the World Endurance Championship in the factory Aston Martin Racing race transporter, with the factory GTE machines. On arrival at the great tracks such as Spa Francorchamps, Monza, Nürburgring, Silverstone, Paul Ricard, Barcelona, and of course Le Mans for the 24hrs, the GT12 was unloaded and would be Dalla Lana's transport to-and-from his hotel or French Chateaux. Almost every mile that the car has seen is to-and-from the race tracks of the World Championship circus, driven by its World Champion owner.
Think of those early morning pre-race scenes in Steve McQueen's film Le Mans - that is the atmosphere that this car has lived and beathed.
Surely the most important of all the GT12 Aston Martins.
UK road registered, Left-Hand-Drive and only 4419km from new.
