Description

This is exactly how you want your six-cylinder Aston DBS to be, it was fitted from new with the 5 speed ZF manual gearbox and is one of only seventy examples supplied new with the Vantage spec engine option featuring triple Weber’s and 325 bhp. Finished in the great colour combination of midnight blue with red leather, it also happens to be in great shape throughout.

The DBS was finished at the factory on the 26th September 1969 and was supplied to the first owner by London Aston dealer on the 13th April the following year. The factory records on file further show that options of a Radiomobile radio and Fiamm horns were specified by the first owner, a Mr Newman. Records also indicate the return of the DBS to the factory for snagging and maintenance work.

Sometime later the Aston ended up with an enthusiast in France and in 2006, a full body off restoration was completed by well-known marque specialist SARL in Lille. Extensive invoicing and photographs on file detail and illustrate the comprehensive nature of the work completed.

Following this work the Aston was used sparingly and continued to be well maintained with invoices on file with specialists SARL, RPM and Aston Heritage.

In 2015 the DBS was purchased after inspection by well-known classic car dealer Hexagon, based in London, who have handled many Aston Martins over the years. It was despatched following purchase to well-known Aston specialists Pugsley and Lewis for a full service and rectification of any faults found. Their invoice on file from June 2015 for £31,000 details the work they completed.

Shortly after this the DBS was purchased by a regular customer of Hairpin who only buys the very best examples following extensive research. He has enjoyed the Aston over the intervening few years, has looked after it very carefully and maintained it properly as invoices on file from marque specialist Trinity Motors illustrate. The car is only now for sale as he has little time to enjoy it.

The DBS remains in great order throughout, is finished in a great colour combination and features the ultimate factory mechanical specification. It comes with an extensive history file.
