"DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND OUR CONTROL, THIS LOT HAS BEEN WITHDRAWN FROM THE AUCTIONThe sleek superformed aluminium body of the DB9 was initially designed by Ian Callum but had also been significantly influenced by the next director of AM design, Hendrik Fisker. It was powered by a third generation version of the now familiar 6.0 litre, V12 and has a top speed of 186mph. The DB9 was the first of what was to become a long line of production Aston Martins to use VH architecture; using superformed parts in the chassis and footwell as well as the body panels. The individual die-cast, extruded or stamped aluminium elements of the VH platform are bonded with strong adhesives and self-piercing rivets to make a lightweight but stiff backbone. The DB9 body shell weighed 25% less than that of the DB7 but has double its torsional rigidity. This process also allowed Aston Martin to retain high levels of engineering accuracy in producing a car at a higher volume, ensuring chassis performance to match the engine power. Aston Martins have always made the interior of their cars to be very special places. The fine detail of finishing is typified by the starter button made of glass and sand etched with the Aston Martin wings logo.
Originally registered on 13th May 2005 this Aston Martin presents in very good order. A great service history accompanies V12 OVS, largely with Aston Martin main dealers. Factory specification includes satellite navigation, electric seats, leather clad steering wheel, climate control, touchtronic transmission and 19inch multi-spoke alloy wheels with light grey brake calipers. Upon starting the engine and driving the car it is obviously apparent this DB9 coupé is a well cared for example. Supplied with a V5C registration document together with a current MoT test certificate, this Midnight Blue with Caspian Blue interior Aston Martin DB9 appears to be very attractively estimated.
The health and safety of both our customers and team remains the utmost priority, we are therefore operating to Government guidelines throughout viewing and auction day."
