Lot 238
Registration Number: BPJ 66H Chassis Number: DB6/4229/R
Introduced at the 1965 London Motor Show, the Aston Martin DB6 was notable as the first model to be engineered following a factory move from Feltham to Newport Pagnell. Following on from the iconic DB5, the DB6 took much from the previous model with the notable exception of the use of its distinctive upswept ‘Kammtail’. This feature combined with the relocated rear axle and lengthened wheelbase, provided better stability at high speed. Other recognition points included the return of front-door quarter windows, an oil-cooler air scoop, set low beneath the distinctive ‘DB’ grille plus quarter-bumpers at each corner. The ZF five speed manual gearbox was standard equipment, while an optional, updated Borg Warner automatic gearbox and a ‘Powr Lok’ limited slip differential was offered as an alternative
