This car was sold new in the UK and despatched on the 10 April 1957
It then continued its journey and immigrated to Western Australia with the original owner in the late 1950s. It presents today with its matching number engine and in original unrestored condition with the patina showing it has been very well cared for. It was last a part of a significant private car collection of a prominent Doctor having been owned previously by classic car enthusiasts residing in W.A. Presented in Green duco over a Cream leather interior and wire wheels, this example offers an opportunity to enjoy the car as is or add some final finishing touches and potentially add value. Timeless classic lines, sporting performance, even by today's standards, and predictable sure-footed handling mean that these post-war Astons continue to be desirable.

The DB 2/4 was an upgraded version of the original DB2 which was the first Aston Martin model to bear the iconic DB moniker. It was first produced in 1953 with the aim of creating an unrivalled Grand Tourer that combines both supreme comfort and dynamic handling and performance by replacing the existing 2.6L Inline 6-cylinder engine with a 2.9L Inline 6-cylinder engine. This improved overall power to 140bhp with a top speed of 120mp/h. A total production number of 439 Aston Martin DB 2/4 Mk 1 saloons were built.

Known not only for its impeccable handling and a level of comfort, not commonly found in any other sports car at the time, the DB 2/4 had remarkable rally credentials, entering the Monte Carlo Rally in 1955 and taking the team to victory.
