The Aston Martin DB2/4 was introduced in 1953 as the successor to the DB2 and produced until 1957.

In its first year of production, the Aston Martin DB2/4 was fitted with the same Lagonda six-in-line engine with double overhead camshafts as seen in the DB2 Vantage. It has a 2.6L with 125hp and 93kW. That could be improved: a 2.9L version was introduced later that same year with 140hp and 104 kW. This engine had a top speed of 193 km/h.

The MKII was a major improvement compared to the MKI, especially aesthetically. The roofline was adjusted, the rear lights were nicely incorporated into the rear fins. It also had a much nicer back with a third door and a large rear window.

Only 199 DB2/4 MkII cars were produced in total, this is one of the last 70 with chassis number 1229. The car is equipped with the original engine and gearbox, the car has matching numbers.

The DB 2/4 has an extensive and well-documented history consisting of invoices and restoration reports.

The colour combination was very tastefully done, the bodywork was painted in Maroon. A very nice contrast with the red Connolly leather interior. The cashmere headliner is also very nice.

The DB2/4 was originally delivered new in the United Kingdom. The car has a Dutch registration since 2008.

This restored Aston Martin is in very good condition. A very extensive report is available. The paintwork is still in very good condition. The sills, mudguards, doors, bonnet and boot lid have a good fit.

If you are an Aston Martin fan and are looking for a beautiful and great driving DB 2/4 MkII and you’d like to take part in classic car rallies, then now is the time to enjoy this car.

You are welcome to view this car in our showroom and take it for a test drive before you place a bid.

This vehicle can be viewed and picked up in Oldemarkt, the Netherlands.

The Austin Martin has sustained some minor signs of wear and age over the years, see photos.
