Description

- Ideal restoration project

- Swansea V5C

- Blue with red leather, manual gearbox

Launched in 1952, the Sapphire range was powered by an advanced 3.4-litre six-cylinder hemi-head unit allied to either automatic or manual transmission as in the example offered here. Despite costing more than most rivals, the Sapphire was well-received and sold well before the company ceased production of motor cars in 1960 in order to concentrate on aircraft engineering.

Purchased as a complete project in Devon in 2015 by a previous owner who intended to carry out a full restoration, work never commenced and the car was recently acquired by the vendor and fitted with a new 65AH battery, the missing ignition key replaced, engine started and found to "run well", other systems checked over, leaving just the coachwork to be refurbished or providing an opportunity to carry out a more comprehensive restoration depending on your preference. Sold strictly as viewed.
