In 1919 Siddeley-Deasy was bought out by Armstrong Whitworth Development Company of Newcastle upon Tyne and became the Armstrong Siddeley Motors subsidiary. it wasn’t long before its cars attracted Royal patronage, customers even including the Duke of York (later King George VI). Armstrong Siddeley manufactured luxury cars, and later, aircraft engines. In 1935, J. D. Siddeley’s interests were purchased by Hawker Aircraft to form Hawker Siddeley, a famous name in British aircraft production. Armstrong Siddeley produced their last cars in 1960.
The car on offer here is believed to be a circa 1936 Armstrong Siddeley Limousine with a Laundaulette body on a 20/25hp chassis in two-tone cream and black with a beige interior.
