It bears its three identification plates on the front apron, with their authentic rivets. The berlinette, which appears not to have been driven for several decades, is original and fairly complete. It features a manolene fuel tank with quick-release front cap, original seats and steering wheel, and original rims. The bumpers are metal, but need to be completely rechromed. The engine appears to be that which equipped the car. It has not been possible to see the gearbox to determine whether it is a 353 (small gearbox) or a 364 (large gearbox).
Most of the side moldings and scoop moldings are present. Note that the right rear engine mount has been removed and replaced by a tie rod, and that the right rear of the chassis and wheel arch appear to have been heavily modified.
This Alpine, which is the most sought-after model, is very close to the original apart from this rear transformation, and wears a highly desirable color (RDL yellow) not available on the Alpine NGs sold by Alpine in 2023! However, to get back to the condition in which Mr. R. had seen his berlinette in 1972 in Paris, it would have to be completely restored, in particular by stripping the chassis, placing it on marble, restoring it and sandblasting it.
A copy of the 17965 Alpine sales register will be provided to the buyer.
