One of only 83 J2Xs built

This right-hand drive, Allard J2X offered for sale from a private collection, has just undergone a £10,000 service and is still fresh from its restoration between 2013-2019.

Chassis J2X 3063 was configured in right-hand drive and fitted with a 3.9 Mercury side-value V8 motor. Exported new in June of 1952 to George Lee Motors in Singapore, this was the only Allard delivered new to Singapore. The car has the following specifications from the factory; bronze paint, brown interior, wire wheels, full size windscreen, wipers and luggage rack. In 1972 the car was purchased by the vendors father and the car lived in Hong Kong where the Mercury engine was swapped out for a Studebaker OHV V8. In 2014 the car was registered in the UK, maintenance records show the J2X was maintained by J.W.S Motorsport Automotive Engineers from 1995 to 2006, with bills for over £35,000. Between 2013 and 2014 Twyford Motors worked on the car; this included gearbox overhaul, new dashboard and instruments and a full body respray, bills came to £13,000. Restoration by Classic Motor Cars Limited, totalling £34,000, took place between 2017 and 2019. Century Classic dismantled and serviced the brake system in the middle of 2018. The car has been beautifully restored throughout and following completion of the restoration it has been maintained regularly by Classic Motor Cars Limited.

Most recently the car went to P&K Thornton Restorations for a full inspection and service. Once inspected and serviced it was decided to replace a few items on the car, a total of over £10,000 was spent.
