Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior

Italian lovers watch out, because you are about to go Dutch thanks to this masterpiece: a 1976 Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior, newly delivered in Holland. It’s not the first time we get our hands of this beauty: once we discovered its stunning, original condition, we decided to get a grip on “Junior” and optimized the technical parts to get it all as perfect as its design. At the request of the former owner, we added some subtle upgrades afterwards. For example, notice the GTA wheels. Getting all warmed up now by the fiery coupe, aren’t you?

History
Falling for the charms of an Alfa Romeo 1300 GT Junior is just as hard as letting Italian ice cream melt under the sweltering sun. Enthusiastic as the former owner was, he knew exactly how to personalize his Junior. We had already taken care of the technical part and kept it as original as possible, just like we found the Italian beauty in our own country at the time. Although it’s impossible to get bored of this gorgeous Alfa 1300 GT, your predecessor thought now is the time to add something else to his private collection. After all, you only live once, right?

Exterior
The Alfa Romeo GT is the sporty 2-door version of Bertone's 1st monster project in his career. Although the famous Italian designer already had shown his skills in an earlier stage with the Giulietta Sprint, the Alfa GT truly is something else. The body looks extremely solid thanks to clean lines and right angles. Highlight is the robust front: later GT series can be recognized by the 2 double round headlights and vertical bars in the grille, running right through the scudetto. The missing bumpers are copied from the GTA, just like the wheels. Not a fan of stickers? No worries: they stick with magnets and are removed faster than you can blink. Nevertheless, personally we think it looks cool, especially in combination with the iconic Rosso Alfa lacquer. As if the GT 1300 Junior is rolling straight from the track!

Interior
The Nero interior completes the classic appearance of this bright red Alfa Romeo GT. However, very surprisingly is the overall condition: the black leather upholstery, wooden 3-spoke steering wheel + dashboard and many chrome details are piece by piece equally beautiful. Analogue instruments in characteristic tubes and traditional toggle switches in the center console feed the nostalgic feelings in a way only a genuine Alfa Romeo can achieve. We’re already looking forward to see the sparkle in your eyes as you wonder out loud, “Can I please take a test drive?”

Technique & performance
No driver's car like a classic Romeo, so we can imagine you straight want to talk business. But not before you’ve carefully listened to how fantastic the Junior sounds. Lucky you: it sounds the exact same way as it looks: magnificent. Powered by Twin Cam technology, the 1.3 liter 4-cylinder engine delivers 90 hp. Let's hope you use all 90 of them on a regular base, because that’s the only way to understand the exciting driving characteristics of the rear-wheel drive Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior. PS We also drink Italian coffee in Holland…

Kind regards,
Prins Classics.
