The Alfa Romeo Giulia, presented in June 1962, set new standards in the field of sporty saloons. As the Giulia Super, it distanced itself from the sporty representatives of the BMW, Opel, Ford and Fiat brands in a contemporary comparison test. The Giulia made its career above all as a family-friendly yet sporty saloon. In this auction, a Giulia Nuova Super 1600 LS from the last model year 1978 is offered for sale. The Nuova is the name given to the later series, which is conspicuous among other things for its equally large front headlights, the wide "scudetto" and the narrow bumpers.

The Giulia was first registered in Greece in 1978 and, as far as is known, had 3 previous owners before it was imported to Germany in August 2017. The Giulia already has historic car registration, the MOT runs until September 2023. Repainted, the red colour called "rosso alfa" presents itself: the paintwork can be attested a tidy condition, the colour saturation is even all around and defects in the paintwork are few and far between. This Nuova was given a very well-crafted vinyl cover on the roof when it was repainted in Greece about 10 years ago. Minor imperfections show on the stainless steel trim with dents and light scratches.

The in-line four-cylinder engine with a displacement of 1.6 litres produces 109 hp, and the engine compartment is clean. MOT-compliant 185/65 R14 tyres are mounted on rare Momo alloy wheels. The rims are in nice condition and give the Alfa a very special presence! The brakes were recently renewed in September 2021. Yellow Bilstein sports shock absorbers have been fitted to the Giulia for better road holding. Also worth mentioning are the ZF steering gearbox and the installed fan manifolds, which give the Giulia that sporty finishing touch! The oil sump is fitted with an underride guard.

A centre console with wood veneer upgraded the Nuova's interior compared to the previous Giulia models. The driver sits on black leatherette seats that are free of damage. The door panels are also finished in black and present themselves in immaculate condition, as do the as-new sun visors. The three-spoke wooden steering wheel and the wooden gear knob add a sporty flair to the interior. There is no damage in the front or rear compartments. The headliner and dashboard are also black. The equipment includes numerous round instruments such as a rev counter, time clock and speed indicator, backed with a blue dial and a colour glass windscreen. The speedometer shows a mileage of 57,736 kilometres and all instruments are in working order. An original owner's manual, a contemporary model brochure and some service receipts are also present and are part of the delivery.
