"When it went on sale in 1972, after first being launched the previous year at the Turin Motor Show, the Alfasud rewrote the book. Given that Alfa Romeo had no experience of small front-wheel drive cars, the sheer dynamic excellence of the flat-four powered Sud came as a shock, leaving the opposition grasping at straws in order to catch up. In 1976, Alfa Romeo trumped the standard Sud by reworking it into a gorgeous coupé and the results were predictably fantastic. Styling was handled by Giugiaro who, of course, had penned Alfa Romeo's most praised design, the 105 Series and, who, at the time was probably the best designer in the world in terms of drawing cars that were simply 'beautiful'. The Sprint, in many people's eyes, eclipsed the already desirable Alfetta GTV.First registered on 29th October 1979, this car is surely one of the most original surviving examples of its kind. The car is supplied with a fantastic history file including the original service book, handbook, brochure and service coupons book. Having only covered a mere 34,510 miles in its 40 years life, this car is in very good, original condition. The interior shows little sign of wear and, whilst there are a few blemishes in the paint, the bodywork is solid as are the mechanics. Needless to say, this is a very well cared for Alfasud, of which only a handful could possibly exist, especially with such a low mileage and in such original condition. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate together with the service books, history and manuals already mentioned, this charming little Sud presents the rare opportunity to own a well maintained example, of which only a handful can still be gracing our roads."
