Description

When the 2600 Spider was launched at the 1962 Geneva Motor Show featuring Carrozzeria Touring coachwork, it was immediately recognized as the new star in the Alfa Romeo stable. The coachbuilt Alfa Romeo featured an all-alloy 2.6-liter, three-carburetor engine coupled with a smooth-shifting five-speed gearbox, providing the elegant open Spider with plenty of power for effortless, long-distance touring. As the last of a long line of twin-cam, six-cylinder offerings, the 2600 Spider also became historically significant when production ceased in 1968, and it has since become a collector’s item among Alfisti.

This 2600 Spider, presented in the gorgeous colors of dark blue over a black interior, benefits from extensive maintenance and refurbishment performed by Euro-Tec Motors of Livingston, New Jersey. After purchasing the Alfa Romeo from an owner in Georgia around 2000, the previous caretaker, an Italian car collector, had Euro-Tec Motors check over the entire vehicle. The cylinder head was repaired and resurfaced, the drive shaft and flex joint were repaired, and the braking system was overhauled. The undercarriage was cleaned and undercoated and suspension work was also carried out. Finally, all fluids were changed, the clutch was upgraded, a new starter was installed, and the gearbox was repaired.

The Alfa Romeo is accompanied by service records and a tool kit and is fitted with sporting wire wheels as opposed to the standard steel units. Having been maintained by Euro-Tec Motors for the last two decades, this attractive, driver-quality 2600 awaits its next fortunate owner.
