Born in 1971 as an evolution of the 1750s, the 2000 was the latest evolution of the classic Alfa Romeo saloons derived from the Giulia, introduced 9 years earlier and still very much appreciated by the public. The 132 horsepower, disc brakes and excellent road-holding made the 2000 a tough competitor for higher-end cars. Available with optional extras such as a self-locking rear siphon differential and automatic transmission, it was a concentrate of sportiness that could be driven every day. Also produced in the American version, equipped with Spica injection, it was a success both in Europe and America: in 1976, the year of its withdrawal from the market, the 2000 was produced in 89,840 units.
This 2000 model of 1972 is an excellent car for all those drivers who want to have a competitive racing car but at the same time approved to be driven on the road. Equipped with its original seats, callipers and front brake discs plus a radiator, it is the perfect sedan for all those performance-conscious family fathers!
