Description
"Manufactured from 1966 to 1993, the Alfa Romeo Spider is widely regarded as a design classic. It remained in production for almost three decades with only minor aesthetic and mechanical changes. The last Spider was produced in April 1993 and the last rear wheel drive Alfa Romeo produced before Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione was introduced on 23rd May 2012. The first presentation of the car, as a prototype, was at the Turin Motor Show in 1961. However, the continuing success of existing models and the economic challenges facing Italy at the time meant that the first pre-launch production Spiders only began to emerge from the Pininfarina production line at the end of 1965.
This Alfa Romeo has the desirable 1750cc engine and is an original righthand drive example having been registered in the UK on 13th March 1970. The red coachwork is in good order as is the matching trim. The car spent a number of years in Gibraltar as part of a private collection before returning to the UK a few years ago; fortunately she has retained the original registration plate of AMK 911H. The vendor is a knowledgeable classic car enthusiast and we are advised she drives with no known faults. Supplied with a V5 registration document and a full years MoT test certificate together with some invoices, this Alfa Romeo is a good and highly useable example of a Spider Veloce."
