Based on the floorpan of the Fiat Tipo, the 155 represented the first of a line of Fiat-based Alfa Romeos. Power was provided by Alfa‘s own engines, either the all alloy, twin spark plug, four cylinder with 1.7 and 2.0 litre capacity, the 2.5 litre V6 cylinder unit or either 2.0 or 2.5 litre diesel motors, all of which were mated to a five speed manual gearbox. During 1995/‘96, however, the four cylinder units were replaced by Fiat-derived four valve per cylinder engines that would also see service in the 155‘s successor, the 156. All 155s shared the same basic straight edge body design, highlighted by a wedge-shaped profile that tapers from the tip of the high tai
