Description

In February 1983 Alfa Romeo updated all its sports cars; the Sprint received an important facelift. In addition, the Alfasud prefix and the Veloce suffix were dropped and the car was known as Alfa Romeo Sprint. Three models made up the Sprint range: 1.3 and 1.5, with engines and performance from the Alfasud Sprint Veloce, and the new 1.5 Quadrifoglio Verde. The newly introduced 1.5 Quadrifoglio Verde sport variant was shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1983. Its engine was the 1,490 cc boxer with twin carburetor that managed to put out 105 hp at 6,000 rpm. The performance is therefore correspondingly. Fast and smooth overtaking, safe acceleration and a lively engine, that ‘s the Alfa Romeo Sprint. The front brake discs were ventilated and made the gearbox transmission shorter. In addition to the green bumper piping, the Quadrifoglio also has a green instead of chrome scudetto in the grille, a rear spoiler and 8-hole alloy wheels. Inside a three-spoke, leather-wrapped steering wheel, green carpets and sports seats in black linen with green embroidery. The sprint holder of 7 world records: This very beautiful coupe is graced by the Green Four-Leaf Clover (Quadrifoglio Verde), Alfa Romeo’s legendary symbol of sportiness.

That this mark is on this Alfa Romeo for a reason is apparent from the fact that the Sprint holds no less than 7 world speed and endurance records at the time. All achieved in a grueling race on the Italian Nardo circuit, November 1982. This fast Alfa Romeo no less than 40,000 km with an average speed of 161 km/h. A distance that is equal to that of the total circumference of the earth. Talk about sporty character! This Alfa Sprint QV comes from the 2nd owner, delivered new on January 3, 1984 by Autocentrum Nieuwkoop B.V. in Den Bosch the Netherlands.
