Description
ALFA ROMEO 1300 JUNIOR SPIDER 105-91 (1974) CHASSIS N°: AR*1843356, ENGINE: 4 CYLINDER, DOHC, DISPLACEMENT: 1.290 CM3, POWER: 88,4 BHP, BODYWORK: OPEN TWO SEATER BY PININFARINA. After the Giulietta and Giulia Spider’s success, Alfa Romeo in 1966 launched their new roadster, based on the “105” floorpan. It was designed by Aldo Brovarone and Franco Martinengo at Pininfarina, and was to be in production for 28 years with many modifications along the line. Early in its career, it famously co-starred with Dustin Hoffman in “The Graduate”. The most successful version was the 1300, of which we offer an exceptional specimen here, as it allowed sporting performances with a small and economic engine. As matter of fact, the Alfa Spider offered a unique cocktail: the sporty double cam engine and the elegant Pininfarina line: the best of the Italian automotive style. Today’s car is even more interesting due to its unique livery. Although originally produced with dark blue paint, she was repainted early on by the vendor in a metallic blue finish which was at the time available on the Alfetta saloon. It matches very well with the red upholstery. The vendor acquired it as third owner more than 40 years ago and always cared for it and even improved it with proper alloy wheels and the mentioned respray, using it sparingly. The car has the original registration documents and number plate. This vehicle is in excellent mechanical condition but for safety reasons, we advise the purchaser to have it checked over and to replace the fluids, filters and perishable elements.
