Description
This wonderful AC Ace, with its Weller engine is the only AC Ace that can be referred to as a 1963 model year and is powered by the final iteration of the Weller engine, being a 63 built unit with improved power of 110BHP.
808PF was the last AC Ace to leave the factory and may previously, have been used as a demonstrator by the factory, as the engine number suggests the car would have been built in 1960.
Additionally this AC Ace was seemingly optioned with the lightweight, magnesium cased gearbox.
With only 5 owners covering 60 years, supported by invoices from the 80’s covering rebuilding of the engine and drivetrain.
There are period photos, again we think from the 80’s showing the car undergoing a body refresh and a colour change from its original turquoise blue to its present mid metallic blue.
Contained in the history file there are MOT’s dating back from 1984 and from this, the cars mileage of 79950 appears to be genuine.
The car has covered less than 15000 miles since 1984 and therefore the paintwork and condition of the car is excellent with some very small areas of patina to the bodywork and interior.
The car was featured on the front cover of Thoroughbred & classics in 1977
The car will be fully serviced, together with a fresh MOT in readiness for its next custodian.
