With its low-slung stance, V-twin engine, and classic silhouette, the Yamaha Virago recalls elements of the legendary Vincent Black Shadow. Though separated by decades and very different in engineering and intent, both motorcycles place the V-twin at the visual heart of a lean, purposeful design. This Virago has been transformed by well-known custom builder Greg Hageman, and evokes the appearance of the Vincent Black Shadow. Modifications include a 1,100 cc engine, extensive bodywork changes, a four-leadingshoe drum brake, dual Mikuni VM carburetors, wire wheel conversion, and 2-into-1 exhaust. The bike was commissioned by Mr. Joel, stemming from a desire for the vintage Vincent aesthetic with more modern mechanicals. The result was featured in many publications and dubbed the "Vinago."
