The history of Ollearo begins in 1919, when Neftali Ollearo opens his workshop for repairing bicycles and motorcycles in Turin. Equipped with inventiveness and good manual skills, he soon designs and builds the first bicycle frame, which will then be combined with a 2-stroke single-cylinder 123cc engine. In 1923, the Ollearo motor bicycle was born. In 1929, he presents the Motoleggera, still with a 2-stroke engine but with a displacement of 175cc. The pedals are eliminated, replaced by the starter crank and the new 3-speed gearbox with built-in starter gear is designed, with a patent filed. The frame is made of round steel tubes with a parallelogram front suspension and a centrally placed spring. The motorcycle is missing some components, ideal as a base for an ambitious restoration project of one of the most representative light motorcycles of the subalpine motoring school._x000D_
