The Rickman Brothers, Derek and Don, were extremely accomplished riders in their own right and following a very successful racing career, saw a market for a light weight design frame with superb handling characteristics able to take a variety of engines to clients choice, be it Triumph BSA, Zundapp or Honda. Favoured by many competition riders of the day, for both track and off road events, and indeed made famous by their desert racers used by Steve McQueen, the Rickam Brothers achieved recognition on and off the track for their design and manufacture.
The Metisse, we are pleased to offer for sale, is a 1965 500cc original scrambles bike from new with full Metisse fairing.
Purchased in the mid 1980s by the vendor, he has continued to enter this motorcycle in competition until approximately 1996, in both UK and European historic events.
